The River Miño

The Miño, the father of the Galician rivers, bathes with its fertile waters an important part of our municipality. Formerly a natural border with Portugal, it is now a waterway uniting us with our neighbouring country. From the parish of Caldelas down to Areas, the river provides different waterfront areas where we can enjoy nature.

It can be navigated from Guillarei to Areas, but care should be taken in the Areeiros stretch, where there are challenging current changes.
